Holding on to summer.... GIVEAWAY?

I can’t believe how quickly autumn has arrived here! Since September began we’ve had thunderstorms and what seems like torrential rain. As much I love the prettiness of the autumn and the snowy winter months I’m not yet ready to put away my summer clothes or the thought of al fresco eating and sitting in my garden listening to the crickets into the night.

At least in my atelier a little piece of summer will remain for ever as my flutterbys catch the light and the breeze from an open window. And so I’ve decided to offer a little piece of eternal summeriness (is that a word?) to one of my blog readers. Simply leave a comment on this post about what you loved (or hated!) about this summer and I will randomly pick a number (using a highly scientific method I’ve yet to source) and if your comment matches that number you’ll receive one of my signed Flutterbys!!!! If you have a colour preference don’t forget to mention it at the end of your post!!

You have until Saturday 20th September and on Sunday 21st I’ll announce the lucky winner.

GOOD LUCK!

Please Note: Giveaway now closed!

The beach is always what I love about summer. What I hated was the attempt by weeds to overtake our backyard.

My favorite fluttery lovelies are aqua (and other blues) or coral/pink.

I loved loved loved spending a ton of time this summer with my son Jayden :) We painted, played with clay, had a book club, a mile club, made super yummie food, picked blueberries, went swimming, went to the park, etc....it was FANTASTIC!!!
Your flutterbys are beautiful! I have always loved that word too :)

Glitzy Gallery Gal said...

How beautiful are these? SO pretty! I can just see the swirly pink one floating over my window catching the light.

My summer memory would be waking up super early and driving down to the beach. I dragged that heavy chair down to the water so my feet could get wet while I read a book. It was so calm and relaxing watching the sun rise higher in the sky.

Oh what a wonderful giveway! I'm in Australia & we've just finished our winter & have now entered spring (my fave season). So I can comment about what I didn't like about winter if that counts? I didn't like the cold. Hate cold weather. Ick! I did enjoy the yummy winter-style comfort foods though :)

I just so happen to be having a giveaway on my blog now in celebration of the beginning of spring! Feel free to enter :)

I love this summer holiday with my fiánce on the cruise. I used to love summer specially in Sweden. A warm sunny summer is precious, if we lucky we have 2 months nice summer. Unfortunately this summer was cloudy and rainy that what I don't like. :(
Summer had gone almost 3 weeks ago.

However, I believe your beautiful bird will cheer the autumn up. :D Especially orange/copper one!!!

About what I loved about summer: I had so many adventures, but my top adventure is from Sunday: finally I met a guy, that I find really beautiful and attractive for the first sight; and this never happened to me before.

Florida summers are hot and humid with frequent afternoon rain and breezy evenings. I love it all and being an avid gardener, it is wonderful watching everything grow lush. I never get tired of watching and listening to the palm trees when it is windy which it frequently is near the coast.

Your butterflies are beautiful and thank you for the opportunity to be the lucky draw.

Good luck with your gallery.

I love summer when there is nice weather to sit outside but unfortunately we have had very little of that this year! Hopefully it will be saved for next year then!

What a lovely giveaway! We didn't even have summer in Belgium this year! At least it didn't get too hot ; ). I love all the colors of your flutterbys, but I guess if I had to choose, it would be the blue/green one right at the top. Thanks for being so generous~~all the best to you.

What I loved about summer was the homebirth of my son, Oliver. I remember standing on the porch the evening of July 5th, the air just barely starting to cool down, but still very humid, and listening to the crickets and frogs.

I love both of the ones you listed in this post!

There was no summer in London this year, or last year for that matter. I could do with some Autumnal sun, anything but rain.

I love the blue/green butterfly.

What I loved most about Summer - all the beautiful flowers around the pond this year. This is our 3rd Summer here, and the flowers are finally filling in and looking like they've been there forever. It's so relaxing to go sit out by the pond and watch the goldfish swim around, the bees and butterflies flitting around the flowers, and listen to the water running over the waterfall. It's a retreat I love to turn to when I need a break.

I would love any color flutterby- they're all gorgeous! (Pick me, please, pick me!) : )

I love summer because I can eat ripe strawberries, have friends over for a BBQ's, feel the sand in my feet, the sun on my face and play beach cricket (I am an aussie). I love all yr flutterbys but if I won I would love orange to go with my new orange range of napkins i made for the coming summer

This summer I loved taking a trip back to the States and eating real fresh corn on the cob, and showing my daughter her first butterflies close up (but they were sitting on a dead fish... ew! Do they eat fish?)

Your butterflies are prettier and less gross. :)

I hate that summer went by so fast, but I love the fact that I was able to be at home with my 1.5 year old son. Kids just make summer magical again! Your butterflies remind me of the same magic...seeing things in a new light or for the first time.

Oh, how wonderful!! I have to admit that I have a love/hate relationship with Summer. Mostly, it is hate. We live on the Texas/Mexico border and the Summers are so relentlessly hot and never ending (We are still looking forward to a month or two more of 90+ degree days with no cool down at night.) that it has really spoiled that childhood glory of Summer. Maybe someday we can move to a cooler climate and I can yearn for it again! ;-) Thanks for the fun giveaway. I can't wait to check out your etsy shop!

My favorite part of the summer was being able to take my darling little granddaughter to the park. At the beginning of the summer she would stay on a blanket. 3 months later, she is walking and won't stay anywhere! But we loved being able to take her out in just a t-shirt and know she would be warm and safe.

I love bbq's, swimming and being able to stick my toes in the sand. The only part I dislike about summer is the humidty. My doggie Taco loves the summer so she can get down with her beachy self. She loves her paws being wet and she loves to run up and down the shoreline. It makes me happy to see her sweet face experiencing such joy..

-hugs-
