Ribbons - pt1

I got a gorgeous bundle of organza ribbon in the post today - all ready to be attached to some little stars and neatly gift boxed with tissue paper. I can't resist ribbons, someday I'll get organised enough to buy them on the spool but right now I generally buy what I need and then a little extra just incase. Anyway if you buy a little at a time it's always a good excuse to go back for another shopping trip. My ribbon jar has reach 'critical mass' - every couple of months it gets emptied, the ribbons rebundled and sorted and for a few weeks at least, it makes finding the colour/type I need a whole lot easier. So that's my task tonight - to empty out the jar and sort the ribbons :)

oh and Happy St Patricks Day!

The Cupcake Box

The Cupcake Boxes

I big "Thank you!" to Susan from ArtEsprit for featuring my Dowry garland on her fabulous blog this week. You can read the feature here

I recently listed one of my little "Cupcake " boxes in my Etsy shop and this week it got onto Etsy's front page thanks to a great treasury by Sisicata entitled "Spank Me!" (Fab title!) Seen above on the left of the picture the little box is in sticky caramel glass with a raspberry pink transparent top and Swarovski crystal heart embellishment. Find it in my Etsy shop here

Sisicata is a fabulous jewellery designer from Poland who works in resin and silver. My favourites are her resin bangles and I've already been dropping heavy hints to A. that I want the "Jean Cocteau Tribute" bangle for my birthday next month- I'll be really disappointed if he doesn't lol! Please check out her gorgeous shop on Etsy (but don't even think about buying that Cocteau piece!!!!)

Stormy

I was just getting used to having my afternoon coffee outside again when winter bites back and sends me into depression :(
Stormy weather has arrived, breaking branches and generally causing havoc - two huge walnut trees on the way into our hamlet had to be felled today before they damaged the nearby houses :( and snow is threatening again - just as my spring crocus, narcissus and primroses are blooming. I want spring to stay! I picked some of the primroses just in case the garden is snow covered by morning, at least I'll have a little bit of sunny spring yellow still to look at :)

It was not all gloomy today - my black glass choker "Noir" featured on Etsy's front page this morning thanks to a treasury by Arctida - a Swedish jeweller whose Etsy shop is always full of spring colour!

Chambery Carnival Costumes

On Saturday we went to the carnival in Chambery it was a showery day but it managed to stay dry for the duration of the parade. Here are some photos that A. took - the costumes were beautiful!
