Little Nesting Birds on Mirror Garlands

I've already put a little nesting birdie on a stained glass garland (Chateau Romance) and decided they'd look really cute on some mirrored buntings too (I've only a few of these gorgeous little white birds left but a big box of grey ones to dip in some glitter for future garlands) I've started off with a very girly pale pink but next two will be in blue and green - I think they'd look great in a kids room (but far away from little hands obviously!!!!!)

This garland is just about to go for sale in my Etsy shop :)

Dowry Mirror Garland no. 2

Embellished with lucite bellflowers in soft mango / peach and tied with a rich 'antique gold' satin ribbon and adorned with flowers in a fabulous pink. The ends of the ribbon are finished in mirror stars and flowers. You can find it in my Etsy shop here

The Chateau at Vizille

The Chateau at Vizille near Grenoble is now a Museum of the French Revolution. We went there yesterday in searing 36 degree heat, the humidity inside was as severe as the heat outside. The grounds were stunning, on hindsight we should have brought a picnic or even just some bread (or maybe that should be cake) to feed the ducks and swans. As usual I'm just going to post images - please click on the links above for more info on the history of the chateau and the revolution

Get the Look :Home Decor Edition

Well yesterday I got very excited because one of my garlands was featured in Etsy's mailshot /Storque article You're Invited for Tea I was wondering why I was getting so many shop views until Mitsy aka Artmind told me about the feature! In fact the garland was the very one I photographed the making off in my last post here.
You can see the article here - it features lots of vintage, cottage and shabby chic finds!

Choosing the elements of a garland

I gathered together some pieces this afternoon for another garland, and thought it looked so pretty I'd take a photo. I've still to cut out two stars for the ribbon ends. I'm in a very girly mood with my glass at the moment - a delivery of more peach/champagnes, whites and palest pink arrived today and I can't wait to use it ...maybe I'll make some pale peach wings ...

My Little Flower Shop

Well that's what it's starting to look like anyway :) There's another shopping bag still to empty, I'm waiting for more deliveries and I'm hoping to hear back about some totally gorgeous shabby flowers :) Aaron said this morning over breakfast that I have slight obsessive tendencies - I can't believe it took him this many years to notice .... I'm simply stocking up for xmas production 2012.
